The Adoption Process

Life can be complicated. Bringing a new puppy home shouldn't be.

Having a new member join the family is exciting, and should be a thrilling time filled with joy and love. But sometimes the adoption process can get bogged down. We have done our best to simplify it, while still taking steps to ensure every DoodleBrood pup ends up in a safe, loving environment.

Step 1

Let us know you're interested! You can click here, or just give us a call at 931-919-7877 to get started.

Step 2

Let's get to know each other! We prefer finding out about people through an old-fashioned conversation rather than reading a stale application (and who enjoys filling those out anyway?). Either over the phone, or through FaceTime, we want to find out a little about you and your environment, and we're happy to answer any questions you have about us.

Step 3

Send a deposit! This reserves your spot on the wait-list. We'll let you know how many people there are ahead of you, and we'll offer an estimate of how long we expect the wait to be. We'll communicate in the weeks and months leading up to a puppy becoming available for you.

Step 4

Select your puppy! We give each of our pups a temp name, just to give us something to call them until their forever families come up with something better. We personality match our puppies, and when a litter is available for your turn on the wait-list, we'll try to give you a selection of two or three puppies that we believe are well matched for you based on their personality. If we cannot offer you a choice, you will have the option to defer your selection to a later litte. We'll provide pictures (and videos upon request) of the pups we have matched to you. If you'd like to meet a pup you're interested in, just let us know and we'll be happy to set up a FaceTime visit.

Step 5

Schedule your Gotcha Day! Pick up your pup in Tennessee, or ask about our flexible delivery options.

Step 6

Gotcha Day! This is undoubtedly the best part of the process. Your new bundle of fluff comes home! The remainder of your adoption fee isn't paid until your puppy is in your arms. We'll bring a small amount of food, treats, pumpkin (puppy tummies love pumpkin, go figure!), and digestive aids to get you started, along with your pup's immunization and deworming records.

Step 7

Actually, that's it! All that's left is for you to settle in with your new loved one and enjoy the day. If you can, we'd love a review which you can text or email to us, and don't forget to schedule a vet checkup within a few days of bringing your pup home. Always a good idea to start that relationship as early as possible!
